The Jellyfish
Origin.
Founded in 2012, Jellyfish Watersports was created to make Kerala’s rivers and waters accessible safely and professionally. In a state with 44 rivers and over 600 km of coastline, we set out to unlock its true potential for world-class watersports.
Over the past decade, Jellyfish has become an industry pioneer—establishing safety standards, advising government bodies, and building a strong community around adventure and conservation. Our work was recognized with the PROMISE Sustainability Award in 2022.

"Get people to love our waters — everything else follows."
In 2007, I brought an inflatable kayak to the Chaliyar River. Our rivers had quietly faded from people’s lives, but when my young children took to the water instantly, it sparked something bigger. Friends soon followed, and everyone kept coming back.
We realized the real issue wasn’t the water — it was the lack of safe, joyful access to it. As the river silently carried the burden of pollution, we founded Jellyfish Watersports in 2013 with a simple mission: open the water to everyone, make it safe and fun, and inspire every participant to become an eco-warrior.
The name came from my kids, who loved jellyfish. It felt right — as upstream check dams reduced freshwater flow, jellyfish began appearing inland. Something new in our waters. Beautiful, but deserving respect. Fun, but never to be taken lightly. Exactly what we stand for.
Today, Jellyfish offers the widest range of human-powered watersports at a single center, creating a community of water lovers, athletes, and nature enthusiasts unlike anywhere else.
The Chaliyar gave us our beginning. The water gives us our purpose.
